Dutch Sand Artist

De Zandtovenaar throws and shows sand on a lightbox, while magical drawings appear. He brings his audience in astonishment by letting them experience how moving sand can be in a magical spectacle of light and dark.

Gert van der Vijver is a famous Dutch Sand Artist, who discovered the moving art of sand in 2006 and start making art with sand, from drawings to videos and international performances. His magical show of Sand Art has been performed in many different countries, and he collaborated with national orchestra’s, The Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra and The Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra of Amsterdam, to create the magical experience of throwing, shifting and showing sand.
